Niko Papanikolaou, professor at the University of Texas Health San Antonio, MD Anderson Cancer Center gives his clinical evaluation of Elements Spine SRS software. He begins by providing an overview of spine metastases and the treatment thereof with stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). He then discusses the importance of target accuracy and efficiency of treatment, the dose effect, and VMAT implementation. He then describes the planning process using Elements Spine SRS, including CI & GI optimization, dose calculation and algorithm selection. Finally, he presents case examples of his institution’s Spine SRS treatment planning study.
