Clinical Evaluation of Intraoperative Structure Update
Jörg-Christian Tonn, MD, Neurosurgeon at the LMU University Hospital Großhadern presents his clinical evaluation of Elements Intraoperative Structure Update, a new approach to asses extent of resection in situ. He begins by giving an overview of the current methods of assessing extent of resection intraoperatively and their limitations. He then covers the proposed technical solution, including using a navigated tool to “scan” the resection cavity and intraoperatively update the preoperative tumor object. He then shows in detail the results of an initial feasibility study of the above.
