Daniel Venencia, PhD, from the Instituto Zunino – Fundacion Marie Curie in Cordoba, Argentina discusses clinical implementation and quality assurance for spine radiosurgery. He begins by discussing stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and its history and advantages as a treatment for spinal disease. He then discusses planning of spinal SBRT treatments in general and at his institution, including HybridArc, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), Monte Carlo and pencil beam. He then goes into detail about planning with Brainlab Elements Spine SRS using case examples. Finally, he discusses quality assurance which he quantifies with specific data.
