Frameless Radiosurgery Clinical Validation for Functional Radiosurgery Patients
Aidnag Diaz, MD, from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago discusses frameless radiosurgery clinical validation for functional radiosurgery patients, specifically in terms of trigeminal neuralgia. First, he gives an overview of trigeminal neuralgia and then covers the treatment options for the disorder: pharmacological, surgical and stereotactic radiosurgery. He goes on to outline papers written about the disorder and cites specific cases before giving a detailed look at stereotactic radiosurgery using Brainlab frameless radiosurgery and ExacTrac for treatment. He concludes that stereotactic radiosurgery is a non-invasive, effective treatment method for trigeminal neuralgia.
