Mohsen Javadpour, MD, Neurosurgeon from Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, Ireland, discusses his institution’s first clinical experiences with SmartBrush Angio in frameless stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). He begins by giving an overview of SRS for AVMs in that it’s an established technique for the treatment of AVMs and that fixed frame immobilization is making way for frameless systems. He then discusses the imaging modalities, both 2D (digital subtraction angiography (DSA)) and 3D (TOF MRA, T2 and CTA). He then goes into detail about their initial experiences planning AVM cases with SmartBrush Angio.
