Giuseppe Minniti, MD, from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, discusses the radiosurgery planning requirements for primary brain tumors. He begins by talking about the indications for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), including pituitary adenoma, meningioma, acoustic neuroma, craniopharyngioma and recurrent malignant brain tumors. He then addresses imaging, target delineation as well as dose delivery and SRS techniques. He finally delves into immobilization and accuracy of patient repositioning before discussing the development of optimal treatment planning strategies.
