Validation of Smartbrush Angio Registration for Frameless Stereotactic Targeting of Brain AVM
Ingrid Kuijper, MSc, from the Amsterdam University Medical Center discusses her department’s validation of Elements SmartBrush Angio registration for frameless stereotactic targeting of brain arteriovenous malformations (AVM). She begins by outlining the use of frames in AVM treatment for patient positioning but also for the registration of 3D CT with 2D digital subtraction angiography (DSA) scans. She then describes the methods and materials of the study followed by the workflow steps of the SmartBrush Angio software. She then delves into the results of the study including outliers using case examples and ends with conclusions drawn from the study.
